Sharyn Creates Pet Portraits
I learned to love animals from my parents. I am thrilled that I can now create pet portraits that show the joy and love that pets and their families feel today. Portraits capture precious moments that make memories for years to come. Your pets are puppies or kittens for a very short time. They are adorable and portraits will allow those times to be remembered for many years as you watch your pets grow to adulthood. Portraits of adult pets show the beauty and the joy that these members of your family contribute to the happiness of the entire family. If your family wishes, I will include images of family members with your pets to reflect the beautiful nature of your entire family.
I have learned the necessary skills to work with animals to consistently capture the highest quality photographs and digital paintings regardless of the situation. It is the artistry and vision to get that one image – that one look – that is so uniquely each of your pets.
Sharyn’s Limited Edition Seascapes
I became interested in photography as a child when my father gave me my first camera for my birthday. After I began working, I purchased a camera and darkroom equipment and began printing black and white photographs of my own.
When I switched to a digital camera years later, I first began creating color and black and white images. Gradually, I moved to mostly black and white. I began creating black and white prints of seascapes. I now have a body of work of these seascapes. I call them my Ethereal Seascapes series. You may see some of them in the limited edition prints gallery on this website.
Asian Brush Painting
I was never exposed to any type of Asian artwork as a child. However, as an adult I saw some sumie (pronounced “sue-me-ay”) brush paintings in galleries. I was immediately drawn to them. I believe it was the delicacy of the brushwork that pleased me. I eventually purchased a small amount of Asian artwork.
When I began to learn digital painting, it wasn’t long before I wanted to learn sumie. Sumie began in China many centuries ago and eventually spread to Japan. Asian brush painting is very different from Western painting and it requires learning a different set of skills to create it. I have done that and am now showing some of these paintings in my studio. You may view some of these paintings in the Asian Brush paintings gallery on this website.
Enhancing your Home or Office with Artwork
I offer the option of design advice to place the piece in your home or office in a way that will accentuate the beauty of the art and enhance the overall appearance of the room. I will work with you to create the artwork that you feel is perfect and which you wish to enjoy every day.
Examples of my artwork are shown in the slideshows at the tops of pages and in the galleries on this website. Please enjoy them!
