Sharyn remained in Baltimore until her husband was transferred to San Francisco. She and her husband returned from San Francisco to the Washington, DC area, where they still live.
Sharyn chose a research career in public health. She was first published in 1978, with many scientific publications following.
Sharyn loved reading all types of fiction from an early age. Her interests expanded to writing outside the scholarly literature several years ago. She feels that designing and conducting scientific studies has parallels to unraveling a mystery. She used her scientific background extensively in her mystery novel, Evening Shift.
